Which Star Wars movie shows Annakin as a young boy? What order would you watch the movies in?

I haven’t had anything to do with these movies for over a decade, but i’m suddenly curious. I’ve got 2 questions. A. Which Star Wars movie was it that shows Annakin growing up and being trained as a Jedi? I’m thinking it’s one of the recent ones??? B. What order would you suggest watching the entire series in? Thanks for the help!

  1. A – Young kid in Episode 1, training in Episode 2 and 3.
    B – Start to finish, Ep 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

  2. You should not watch ANY of the newer movies (The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, or Revenge of the Sith) because they are dreadful.

Watch and enjoy Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi to your hearts content, pretending that there was no awful prequels.

  3. Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace shows him as a young boy, ready to begin his training.

Episode II: The Clone Wars shows Annakin as played by Hayden Christensen.

I would recommend watching the original trilogy first (Episodes IV-VI), because it is terribly hard to sit through the terrible special effects and boring lightsaber fights after you’ve seen the prequel trilogy (I-III).

  4. If I was you I would watch them in this order 4,5,6,4,5,6,4,5,6,1,2,3,

  5. the one you are talking about is ep. one
as for order, i would watch them in the order they were released starting with ep 4 star wars: a new hope. Eps. 4-6 are generally considered the best – and if you watch eps 1-3 first, some of the twists that are in 4-6 will be ruined. So enjoy 3-6, and then do your best to get through the prequels – (though the 3rd one is actually pretty good. )

  6. stars wars part 1 is where you find annakin growing up. . . i dont remember the young annakin being trained though. . . i think it skips the training until star wars part 2 where Obi-wan Kanobi becomes his mentor and annakin is all grown up. . . .

you should watch the more recent ones. . . star wars 1, star wars 2 and star wars 3. . . . then you go look for the older ones for star wars 4, 5 and 6 where annakin already plays the dark vader role. . . .

  7. The episode where Anakin is a child is Episode I:The Phantom Menace. I would suggest watching them in this Order because movies 4,5, and 6 were the Originals, and a lot of the significance of movies 1,2, and 3 is lost if you don’t watch the others first. I suggest watching them in the order of

    Episode 4 – A New Hope
Episode 5 – The Empire Strikes Back
Episode 6 – Return of the Jedi
    then
Episdoe 1 – The Phantom Menace
Episode 2 – The Attack of the Clones
Episode 3 – Revenge of the Sith

That way you get to understand some of the significance of the characters in moves 1,2, and 3. The story will be out of order chronologically, but this is the order the movies were released in, originally anyway. Hope this helps!

  8. ques A episode #1
ques B watch in numerical order 1 tru 6

  9. My super star wars fan friend found somewhere the idea of watching the movies in a ‘flashback sequence’

So starting with 4 and 5 where you get the dramatic reveal then flash back to 1, 2 and then 3 to give more back story and finishing up with number 6.

This was tested on Star Wars Fan Friend’s boyfriend who had never seen any of them before and he is now a fan. Starting with the first two he got the big reveal and none of that was spoiled and then things he didn’t understand were explained for the first 3 and the finale of Return of the Jedi number 6.

So in short the watch order would be:
    4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 6

But 4, 5, and 6 are the best.

Oh and 1 introduces Annakin as a young boy but his actual Jedi training occurs more in 2.

  10. Episode I: The Phantom Menace is where Anakin is “discovered” as a slave living on Tatoonie at the age of 9. Episode II: Attack Of The Clones is set 10 years after ep I and this is where his “training” is shown to a certain extent.

As for what order to watch them in, this question gets asked a lot and no offense to those who say to watch them in Chronological order (IE: ep 1 – 6 ) but they just don’t get it because that is the absolute worst way to watch them. If you want to enjoy the full experience of the Star Wars saga then I beg you, and I mean beg you on my knees crying telling you that I would give you 25 years of my own life . . . and meaning it . . . the only way to watch them is ep IV – VI then ep I – III. Why . . . well this is just my “theory” but it holds a couple oceans of water.

Start with the fact that they were released that way and that is how the story was meant to be told. Watching them this way will also keep the “suspense” in them. Both of the trilogies “tell” on the secrets of the others but the prequels take much of the suspense out of the OT with some of the info learned in them. There is a scene in episode V: The Empire Strikes Back that was voted # 4 by SAG as one of the most shocking revelations in the entire history of film . . . if you watch them ep I – III then ep IV – VI you will lose the “WTF” value it carried in 1980 because you will already know what it is and it won’t seem like a big deal to you. The problem with that is that this event WAS a big deal to the saga itself. It basically took everything we thought we knew and tossed it into the recycle bin. To this day I remember what happened in the theater I was in to watch this movie for the first time and heard Darth Vader utter 5 words that turned the Star Wars saga upside down . . . absolute silence . . . you could have heard a pin drop 10 miles away . . . we were stunned silent by this “revelation” . . . this went on for about 10 seconds and then one by one you heard people say, no way . . . he’s lying . . . don’t believe him Luke . . . and it went on until Luke made his decision and then another cheer went up in the crowd. Yeah, that’s the kind of “crazy” we were back then. This trilogy grabbed the people of my generation and said . . . you think that was cool . . . watch this. It’s kind of like it was back in the 50s when all the kids were listening to that “Devil Music” called Rock n Roll. It was one of those things that had to be felt not seen. I doubt we will ever seen any movie in any genre that will come close to topping this saga . . .

There is one other thing to decide also with respect to the OT (ep 4 – ep 6) … there are 3 versions of these movies … the ones that came out to theaters in 77 – 83 … the SE versions that came to theaters in 97 … and the DVD versions that came out in 2004. Is there much difference between the 3 versions … for the most part no. The main thing that was changed was picture quality and sound quality. Lucas did change some scenes and did add some small scenes. I would suggest you watch the DVD versions, as they will give you a “refresher course” and are the “final” word according to Lucas.

I really wish that fans would stop and think about just why they didn’t like the prequels and actually say why they don’t like them instead of saying “they suck”. When I stop and do that I come up with two main reasons why they weren’t as good as the originals. First, Lucas got too hung up on all the fancy different ways he could blow things up with all the new CGI that they had developed at ILM and forgot that what made Star Wars the iconic saga that it was and will always be . . . the story itself. Second, and probably more important , is that when Lucas decided to make the prequels he had to do the impossible . . . make 3 more movies as good as or better than the original trilogy . . . it couldn’t be done.

In the end if you want to feel the true magic of the Star Wars saga then ep 4 -6 then ep 1 – 3 are the ONLY way to go.

May The Force Be With You . . .
